I have left these images rather large size, so you can enjoy the detail.  The trade off, of course, is slower download time if you have a dial-up connection.

Mrs. Carey's Cadillac poses in front of one of the symbols of Wichita, the "Keeper of the Plains," located at the Mid-America All-Indian Center.

Another beautiful pose with the "Keeper of the Plains."

The beautiful Matador Red Metallic paint shows nicely in this shot.

And that fabulous fin...

As mentioned on the home page, many people do not remember that Cadillac used the "Park Avenue" name for the short rear deck DeVille for two model years, 1962 and 1963.

The perfectly proportioned 1963 fin catches a bit of that beautiful Kansas sky.

A slightly different angle.  Note the Bulger name plate, now a collector item in its own right.  Joe Bulger sold his dealership and retired in 2002.

Love this view--really picking up that great fin.

A nice deck of cirrus clouds moving in over the best fin Cadillac ever designed.

Drat.  Didn't see that little bit of dirt on the bottom until now.  The car has always had climate controlled storage, and is only driven every couple of weeks for a few miles to keep things tight.  But, one day I unexpectedly ran into a street under construction that was a mud-hole.  Even though I drove 2mph, I still picked up a little bit of dirt.  Groan.

You can tell by my website that I surely do love these old cars.  The trick is to keep that love in the proper perspective.  That is where I draw on the teachings of Bahá'u'lláh, the Prophet/Founder of the Bahá'í Faith:

"He is My true follower who, if he come to a valley of pure gold, will pass straight through it aloof as a cloud, and will neither turn back, nor pause. Such a man is, assuredly, of Me. From his garment the Concourse on high can inhale the fragrance of sanctity.... And if he met the fairest and most comely of women, he would not feel his heart seduced by the least shadow of desire for her beauty. Such an one, indeed, is the creation of spotless chastity. Thus instructeth you the Pen of the Ancient of Days, as bidden by your Lord, the Almighty, the All-Bountiful."
