Cadillac: The Standard of the World

This familiar motto dates to 1908, when Cadillac became the first American car to be awarded the Dewar Trophy by the Royal Automobile Club of London. This distinction was bestowed because Cadillac was the first car to achieve interchangeability of parts through standardization--a remarkable engineering achievement for the day.
No true fan of Fins would dispute that it remains true today when it comes to automobiles. But, there is another "Standard of the World" that is far older, and universally applicable.
The Golden Rule is familiar to many from the Christian context. But, did you know that the same important spiritual principle has been stated in every world religion in recorded history? Here is the true "Standard of the World:"
Bahá'í Faith
And if thine eyes be turned towards justice, choose thou for thy neighbour that which thou choosest for thyself. --Bahá'u'lláh, Epistle to the Son of the Wolf, 30
Hindu Faith
This is the sum of duty: do naught to others which if done to thee would cause thee pain. --The Mahabharata
Judaism
What is hateful to you, do not to your fellow men. That is the entire Law; all the rest is commentary. --The Talmud
Zoroastrianism
Whatever is disagreeable to yourself do not do unto others. --Shayast-na-Shayast 13:29
Buddhism
Hurt not others with that which pains yourself. --Udana-Varga
Christianity
All things whatsoever ye would that men should do to you, do ye even so to them: for this is the law and the prophets. --The Gospel of Matthew Matt 7:12, Luke 6:31
Islam
No one of you is a believer until he desires for his brother that which he desires for himself. --Hadith
This pattern of restating the "Standard of the World" is no accident to members of the Bahá'í Faith. Bahá'u'lláh, the Prophet/Founder of the Bahá'í Faith, teaches that all of the Messengers of God come from the one and only God:
"This is the changeless Faith of God, eternal in the past, eternal in the future."
